About Fairwinds Cornwall
Fairwinds Cornwall is a trusted psychological therapy service based in Cornwall, providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health support. We offer initial assessments and a range of clinical interventions tailored to meet each client’s needs. Our team combines expert clinical experience with the latest research to ensure the most effective care.
Our Work with Rural Communities
Fairwinds has developed a unique model of outreach for Cornwall’s rural and coastal communities, particularly fishermen and farmers. We understand the pressures these communities face, including isolation, occupational stress, and barriers to accessing support. Through initiatives such as local health events, coffee mornings, and on-site engagement at ports and farms, we go to where they are, building trust and providing mental health support in the environments they feel most comfortable. Our outreach and clinical work is guided by the Fairwinds COVE framework, a structured approach that ensures interventions are safe, client centered, and effective for rural and hard to reach communities.
Clinical Services Offered:
- Direct Psychological Support: Initial assessments and clinical interventions designed to address a wide range of mental health needs.
- Expert Clinical Supervision: Supervision for therapists delivering brief therapies, structured CBT, and counselling approaches to ensure high-quality care.
- Consultation Services: Strategic guidance from practitioners with over 45 years of combined NHS primary care experience, including service planning and rural community initiatives.
- Tailored Mental Health Training: Custom-designed training for organisations, developed collaboratively to meet specific requirements.
